CrossAsia – Fachinformationsdienst Asien (FID Asien): Einführung in das Portal für gedruckte und elektronische Ressourcen zu Ost-, Südost- und Zentralasien

Diese einführende Schulung richtet sich insbesondere an Erstnutzer:innen von CrossAsia. Es wird ein kurzer Einblick in die Geschichte und Aufgaben sowie Funktionalitäten des Portals gegeben, seine Module Registrierung und Services, wie der Blaue Leihverkehr, CrossAsia PDA (Patron Driven Acquisition) und CrossAsia DoD (Digitisation on Demand) werden vorgestellt und eine erste orientierende Übersicht über die dahinterstehenden Ressourcen geboten.

Introduction to Korean Databases

The online training course is designed to introduce Korean e-resources available through CrossAsia. The lecture will provide an overview of CrossAsia’s functionality, with a focus on access to licensed databases related to Korean studies. Participants will receive detailed introductions to 19 Korean databases and observe a live demonstration of how to use these databases. The lecture will be delivered in English.

Einführung Japan

In diesem Webseminar sollen die grundlegenden Recherchemöglichkeiten zu Japan anhand der CrossAsia Suche, Cinii Research und der Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) vorgestellt werden. Wie finde ich in Deutschland verfügbare japanische oder westlichsprachige Bücher und Zeitschriften aus und über Japan? Darüber hinaus werden Services wie der Blaue Leihverkehr,  die Möglichkeit von Anschaffungswünschen und die Nutzung von Japan-bezogenen Datenbanken angesprochen. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Personen, die noch keine oder wenig Erfahrung in der Nutzung von CrossAsia haben.

Was steckt alles in JapanKnowledge?

Wie der Name der Datenbank JapanKnowledge schon andeutet, handelt es sich um eine Plattform für Nachschlagewerke und Wörterbücher zu/r Japan/Japanologie. Darüber hinaus besteht Zugriff auf mehrere historische Zeitschriften und umfangreiche elektronische Buchausgaben. In dieser Online-Schulung sollen die Recherchemöglichkeiten sowie die Inhalte von JapanKnowledge näher vorgestellt werden.

Publizieren im CrossAsia Open Access Repository

Das CrossAsia Open Access Repository ist die zentrale Publikationsplattform des Fachportals CrossAsia und wird auf der “DFG-Whitelist für fachspezifische Repositorien” für die Asienwissenschaften von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft empfohlen. Dieser kostenfreie E-Publishing-Service ermöglicht die Veröffentlichung qualitätsgesicherter wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse der asienbezogenen Forschung. Dazu zählen Originalbeiträge und Zweitveröffentlichungen, aber auch Forschungsdaten, Blogposts sowie Ton-, Video- und Bildmaterialien. In diesem Webseminar werden die Rahmenbedingungen erläutert sowie der praktische Workflow vorgeführt.

Die über CrossAsia angebotenen Datenbanken für Zeitschriftenartikel aus und über Japan bieten unterschiedliche Inhalte und Funktionalitäten. In diesem Webseminar sollen Cinii,  Web OYA-bunko, 雑誌記事索引集成データベース (Zassaku), Online Contents Ost- und Südostasien sowie Project Muse kontrastierend vorgestellt werden. Darüber hinaus gibt es einen Überblick in welchen weiteren Datenbanken sich Zeitschriftenarchive finden lassen.

Introduction Japan

The topic of this webseminar is how to search for Japan-related materials in Japanese and/or western languages that are available in Germany. The overview includes the CrossAsia Search, Cinii Research  and the German Union Catalogue of Serials (Zeitschriftendatenbank, ZDB). In addition services such as the special inter-library-loan system called “Blauer Leihverkehr “, the possibility of acquisition requests and the access to Japan-related databases will be introduced. The course is aimed at users who have no or little experience with CrossAsia. The course will be held in English.

Historical Newspapers & Magazines on China or in Chinese

Databases reproducing historical newspapers have been the focus of database providers for some time now. This webinar will give an overview of older and more recent additions to the CrossAsia porfolio of this kind of important source material. A brief look at the CrossAsia ITR Newspaper Explorer will conclude the seminar.

Einführung Zentralasien

Die Onlineschulung beschäftigt sich mit dem Fachbereich Zentralasien, der geographisch definiert ist und die Mongolei, Gebiete der mongolischen, tibetischen und uigurischen Minderheiten in China sowie die Exilgemeinden der Tibeter und Uiguren umfasst. Neben allgemeinen Hinweisen werden grundlegende Recherchestrategien für gedruckte und elektronische Ressourcen vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Studierende und andere Interessierte, die das Portal CrossAsia mit ausgewählten Datenbanken, den StaBiKat sowie die Digitalisierten Sammlungen nutzen wollen.

Japanische Zeitungsdatenbanken, Teil 1

In dieser Veranstaltung werden die Datenbanken der beiden großen japanischen Tageszeitungen Asahi shimbun (朝日新聞クロスサーチ) und Yomiuri shimbun (ヨミダス歴史館 (読売新聞)) sowie das Archiv der englischsprachigen Japan Times vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Teilnehmer:innen mit geringen Vorkenntnissen.

Introduction Central Asia

The webseminar deals with the subject area of Central Asia, which is defined geographically and includes Mongolia, regions of the Mongolian, Tibetan and Uyghur minorities in China as well as the Tibetan and Uyghur exile communities. In addition to general notes, basic research strategies for printed and electronic resources will be presented. The event is aimed at students and other interested parties who want to use the CrossAsia portal with selected databases, the StaBiKat and the digitised collections. Einführung Südostasien

Das Online-Seminar richtet sich an Anfänger:innen der Südostasienstudien sowie andere Interessenten. Es wird die Südostasien-Sammlung, besondere der originalsprachige Südostasien-Bestand, vorgestellt. Es werden Recherchemöglichkeiten nach südostasiatischen Materialien, insbesondere in nichtlateinischen Schriften, besprochen. Die Teilnehmer lernen die unterschiedlichen Kataloge, relevante Datenbanken und das digitale Angebot zu Südostasien kennen.

Japanische Zeitungsdatenbanken, Teil 2

Im zweiten Teil der Vorstellung japanischer Zeitungsdatenbanken werden die Datenbanken der Nikkei shimbun (日経テレコン21) und der Mainichi shimbun (毎索　毎日新聞社のデータベース) ausführlicher besprochen. Weitere über Crossasia verfügbare Zeitungsarchive mit Japanbezug werden kurz vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Teilnehmer:innen mit geringen Vorkenntnissen.

CrossAsia – Specialised Information Service Asia (FID Asia): an Introduction

The introduction aims at users new to CrossAsia and its services. It will give a short overview of the history and tasks of the portal and the registration process followed by an introduction to CrossAsia Search, CossAsia Get it services (special interlibrary loan service, acquisition requests and digitisation on demand) and the features of the CrossAsia database portal. The lecture will be held in English.
