Einführung Zentralasien

Die Onlineschulung beschäftigt sich mit dem Fachbereich Zentralasien, der geographisch definiert ist und die Mongolei, Gebiete der mongolischen, tibetischen und uigurischen Minderheiten in China sowie die Exilgemeinden der Tibeter und Uiguren umfasst. Neben allgemeinen Hinweisen werden grundlegende Recherchestrategien für gedruckte und elektronische Ressourcen vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Studierende und andere Interessierte, die das Portal CrossAsia mit ausgewählten Datenbanken, den StaBiKat sowie die Digitalisierten Sammlungen nutzen wollen.


Japanische Zeitungsdatenbanken, Teil 1

In dieser Veranstaltung werden die Datenbanken der beiden großen japanischen Tageszeitungen Asahi shimbun (朝日新聞クロスサーチ) und Yomiuri shimbun (ヨミダス歴史館 (読売新聞)) sowie das Archiv der englischsprachigen Japan Times vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Teilnehmer:innen mit geringen Vorkenntnissen.


Introduction Central Asia

The webseminar deals with the subject area of Central Asia, which is defined geographically and includes Mongolia, regions of the Mongolian, Tibetan and Uyghur minorities in China as well as the Tibetan and Uyghur exile communities. In addition to general notes, basic research strategies for printed and electronic resources will be presented. The event is aimed at students and other interested parties who want to use the CrossAsia portal with selected databases, the StaBiKat and the digitised collections. The course will be held in English.


Einführung Südostasien

Das Online-Seminar richtet sich an Anfänger:innen der Südostasienstudien sowie andere Interessenten. Es wird die Südostasien-Sammlung, besondere der originalsprachige Südostasien-Bestand, vorgestellt. Es werden Recherchemöglichkeiten nach südostasiatischen Materialien, insbesondere in nichtlateinischen Schriften, besprochen. Die Teilnehmer lernen die unterschiedlichen Kataloge, relevante Datenbanken und das digitale Angebot zu Südostasien kennen.


Japanische Zeitungsdatenbanken, Teil 2

Im zweiten Teil der Vorstellung japanischer Zeitungsdatenbanken werden die Datenbanken der Nikkei shimbun (日経テレコン21) und der Mainichi shimbun (毎索 毎日新聞社のデータベース) ausführlicher besprochen. Weitere über Crossasia verfügbare Zeitungsarchive mit Japanbezug werden kurz vorgestellt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Teilnehmer:innen mit geringen Vorkenntnissen.


CrossAsia – Specialised Information Service Asia (FID Asia): an Introduction

The introduction aims at users new to CrossAsia and its services. It will give a short overview of the history and tasks of the portal and the registration process followed by an introduction to CrossAsia Search, CossAsia Get it services (special interlibrary loan service, acquisition requests and digitisation on demand) and the features of the CrossAsia database portal. The lecture will be held in English.


 Introduction Japan

The topic of this webseminar is how to search for Japan-related materials in Japanese and/or western languages that are available in Germany. The overview includes the CrossAsia Search, Cinii Research  and the German Union Catalogue of Serials (Zeitschriftendatenbank, ZDB). In addition services such as the special inter-library-loan system called “Blauer Leihverkehr “, the possibility of acquisition requests and the access to Japan-related databases will be introduced. The course is aimed at users who have no or little experience with CrossAsia. The course will be held in English.


All online courses are scheduled in Berlin Time / Central European Time (CET/UTC+1).

Please click on the respective button “meeting room” below, follow the link “join via browser” (“über Browser teilnehmen”), and enter your name. If you do not want to say something yourself, please also deactivate your microphone.
